Overview

Exciting changes were in store for the young students of Highland School District at the start of the school year. Four schools within the district, Granger Elementary, Hinckley Elementary, Sharon Elementary, and Highland Middle School, received various upgrades to their properties including air conditioning, wireless technology, roof replacements, and more. For the kids, the most exciting updates were the new playgrounds!

The school district chose Surface America’s PlayBound™ Poured-in-Place system to provide exceptional safety to complement the new playground equipment.

Key Challenges and Solutions

With school playground projects, tight timelines are typically at play since installations are done over the summer months. For this project, Surface America had to complete four relatively large projects within a few weeks window before the start of the school year. To get the projects done on time, we used large installation crews who were able to work very quickly and were able to efficiently install large Poured-in-Place areas without any seams.

The end result is four beautiful new playgrounds for the Highland Hornet kiddos!
